JULIA JIMENEZ
LICENSED INTEGRATIVE MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
LCMHCA, LCASA
My work incorporates an interpersonal, integrative, and existential approach that is peer-informed and trauma-sensitive. I am trained in cognitive behavior therapy, guided imagery, mindful movement, lifestyle medicine, and can use these tools to improve your health based on your needs and preferences. I am also certified in applied/clinical hypnosis, and can utilize this adjunct modality with established clients if there is interest. I am continuing my holistic healthcare studies as a PhD student in Mind-Body Medicine in order to better serve the individuals in my community. I work with adults, couples, and adolescents. I am bilingual (conversational Spanish) and although at this time I only conduct therapy in English, I am able to communicate with parents and guardians who prefer to speak Spanish.
Utilizing a social justice framework means that I recognize that individuals from oppressed and marginalized communities may unduly suffer from a higher degree of health challenges. I acknowledge that barriers to health and wellness may be due in large part to systemic and institutional structures and an individual's socio-economic status.
Currently, I am unable to accept insurance, and will have appointments for new clients, and sliding scale fees available again beginning June 2021.
